I am so excited for this month’s blog. I would like to introduce you to Meredith Landis, FREE’s Outreach Coordinator. Meredith was the first person the Lord brought to the organization after I became director. I won’t go into how the Lord orchestrated it all, but let’s just say He pretty much dropped her right into my lap.:) I am so grateful for Meredith. She has such a huge heart to help those who are enslaved, and she is an incredible addition to the FREE family. I am so blessed to have her alongside of me in this organization. What some may not know about Meredith is that she is a beautifully gifted singer and songwriter. Meredith has shared her song, Fairytale Life, for us on our blog this month, along with the lyrics. Take a few minutes to listen to her song and read the lyrics. I have no doubt you will quickly learn why we love her so much at FREE.

Blessings,

Andrea McHenry

Executive Director of Freedom and Restoration for Everyone Enslaved

Hi. I’m Meredith Landis. This song was written during a time when I was working through my own past. It came from a place of pain, but also from a place of hope and healing. I have seen God restore and bring healing to the wounded spirit, both in my own life and in the lives of others I am close to. There is nothing easy about facing the dark places. My prayer is that this song will speak hope into someone’s life, and that they will know that they are not alone.

Fairytale Life

By Meredith Landis

Lyrics:
She had a fairytale life

Like Snow White and Cinderella

Bluebirds on her fingers

Glass slippers on her toes

She danced down life’s dusty road

Then one day the story changed and the plot got strange

Now things would never be the same again

At the age of ten her fairytale life came tumbling down…

She had a fairytale life

Till the day he ripped it from her

Took her innocence and

Left behind an empty shell

Most days she hid it well

But the guilt she felt was telling her an evil lie

That it must be her fault

Can you hear her cry

Asking why her fairytale life came tumbling down…

Down, down till it felt like she was underground

And she stayed there for a very long time

Now it’s hard to trust the sunlight cause it feels so unfamiliar

Though she longs for nothing more than to let it wash all over her…

Now she’s trying to find her way

With Snow White and Cinderella

Tattered rags surround her

And the poison took its toll

It runs through her lonely soul

But if you try I think you’ll find there’s beauty there

As she prays in the night

For strength to fight

To face the day her fairytale life came tumbling down…

Down, down till it felt like she was underground

And she stayed there for a very long time

But now the sunlight on her face is feeling more and more familiar

And she longs for nothing more than to let it wash all over her…

And it’s a long hard climb

To get where she wants to be

Where the pain inside

Is barely a memory

But someday soon

Love will drive out all her fear

And when it does

Joy is gonna find her here…

Far from the day her fairytale life came tumbling down..

Down, down till it felt like she was underground

And she stayed there for a very long time

Now the sunlight on her face is feeling more and more familiar

And she longs for nothing more than to let it wash all over her…

She had a fairytale life like Snow White and Cinderella

Bluebirds on her fingers

Glass slippers on her toes

She danced down life’s dusty road….
